Focus on Reward
I recently had one of those "oh yeah" moments while driving to visit my son and his fiancee on Easter Sunday. The drive to my son's new home is about 75 miles and the freeways, especially on weekends and holidays, are absolutely terrible. I always dread that drive. But this time while sitting in bumper to bumper traffic and thinking how long it was going to take me to get to my son's (maybe 2 hours or more) I started to focus on the end result, seeing my son and enjoying the company and the new house. Suddenly my demeanor changed and I was happy and calm. Then I remembered, of course the reward was what was important not all the events it takes to get there. It's just like business. We do all the things we "have to" to prospect for the reward of closing deals. Focus on the end result and everything else is okay.

Thinking of Buying? Now is the time!
What are you waiting for? If you are waiting for the bottom of the market, you will miss it. Interest rates are low, inventory is high with many types of properties and the lowest prices in years.
In talking with buyers, they want a "deal". Buyers are offering well below the asking price. Remember the price you pay for your home will help determine the value of your home as well and the neighborhood. Short Sales, REOs, Foreclosures are also determining the market value of homes.
Other buyers are worried about the down payment, credit scores, and monthly mortgage payments. If you have been saving for a down payment (even if it's not a lot), have relative good credit scores and are paying monthly rent, now is the time to buy and stop throwing your money into rent when you can get the tax benefit of owning your own home and save money. Real Estate builds long team wealth.
Buyers, whether you want a fixer and save more money to do it yourself or a beautifully remodeled home, it's out there. If you want a condo, condo conversion, loft, townhome, patio home, fixer single family home, all new home, remodeled home, manufactured home, mobile home, investment property, it's out there! Check with a lender to be realistic on what you can afford and JUST START LOOKING!!
